Job summary

Knowledge Services is seeking an Eligibility Specialist in Seymour, Indiana to assist Indiana residents applying for public assistance programs like TANF, SNAP and Medicaid. You will gather data, verify documents, and determine eligibility in collaboration with the Division of Family Resources.

The role emphasizes strong data integrity, customer service, and the ability to work in a team environment with a focus on accurate processing of applications and timely responses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Counseling or Social Services preferred.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years’ experience in a social service environment preferred.
• Case management or eligibility experience encouraged.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Eligibility Specialists gather data for all relevant assistance programs either face-to-face or via phone with clients.
• Verify all information is gathered accurately and meets state policies.
• Obtain release forms and medical records as needed.
• Verify income, assets, and other financial / legal documents.
• Review regulations and program requirements with clients.
• Utilize automated program to determine eligibility of state assistance programs.
• Data entry into state database.
• Respond to all inquiries in a timely manner via phone or email.
