Job summary

Monarch Healthcare in North Carolina is seeking a Developmental Specialist to support people with mental health diagnoses, intellectual/developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders in achieving personal goals.

This role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to sleepover as needed. The schedule includes evenings and weekends, with travel as required, and focuses on person-centered support, advocacy, and community inclusion.

Qualifications

• Assist people receiving services in developing advocacy skills, participating in advocacy efforts, and utilizing personal advocates.
• Support people receiving services in participating fully in their community consistent with the person’s interests.

Responsibilities

• Assist people in the day-to-day operation of their home such as housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, shopping, lawn care, vehicle cleanliness, and maintenance.
• Drive and travel as required. Arrange for, or provide transportation to people receiving services as required.
• Complete daily progress notes and communication log to assure appointments, goals, and interests are met.
• Maintain certification in all agency, state and federal training requirements.
• Attend and actively participate in meetings and training as required.
