Job summary

Monarch Healthcare is seeking a Developmental Specialist in North Carolina to support individuals with mental health diagnoses, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders. This PRN role focuses on helping people pursue personal dreams and goals within a person-centered approach.

You will assess preferences, facilitate community participation, ensure safety, document progress, and assist with daily living tasks. Sleepovers may be required; a valid driver’s license is necessary.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license required for USA.
• Experience working with people who have mental health diagnoses, developmental disabilities, or substance use disorders is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each person’s hopes, dreams, and desires and provide supports to facilitate achievement.
• Support people in developing relationships and participate in their community.
• Assist with daily living activities and transportation to appointments as needed.
• Promote rights, self-advocacy, and safety; document progress and plans.
• Complete daily progress notes and maintain accurate records and schedules.
• Support staff orientation and training; may require sleepovers in a residential setting.
