Job summary

Beacon Health System is seeking an Imaging Secretary to support the Imaging Services team. The role involves patient registration, pre-certification coordination, insurance verification, payment collection, and maintaining EMR and billing processes across PACS, Cerner, Aspen, and related systems.

You will answer calls, greet visitors, schedule and record patient information, and ensure accurate documentation while delivering world-class service to patients and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient in general office software and equipment.
• Healthcare setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answering telephone calls and greeting visitors; directing inquiries.
• Coordinate small projects for supervisor and ensure timely completion.
• Provide orientation to new department associates on office practices.
• Operate standard office equipment (computer, copier, fax, phones).
• Register patients and collect demographic, physician and insurance information.
• Explain pre-certification needs to referring offices or patients to maximize coverage.
• Verify insurance and document benefits in the EMR system.
• Process copayments and deductibles and post payments to patient accounts.
