Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking an Imaging Coordinator to join the Imaging Team. You will handle registration and pre-registration of patients, prepare packets, call for preregistration notices, collect payments, and update medical records as needed.

You will enter and retrieve information from ITS and PACs, prepare paperwork for imaging procedures, and work with clinical staff to educate patients while maintaining confidentiality and professional demeanor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• One year of prior clerical experience in a medical setting strongly preferred
• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent skills in interpersonal communication to ensure the ability to build relationships with physicians or their support staff
• Knowledge of insurer and payer processes
• CPR/BLS or obtained within the first ninety days of hire
• Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment required.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing required.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines required.
• Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10 codes and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients; prepare pre-registration packets.
• Call patients for preregistration notice and collect co-payments and account payments.
• Register patients and update medical records as needed; enter/retrieve information from ITS and PACs.
• Prepare and present paperwork for clinical procedures done in Imaging.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to educate patients on screening procedures.
• Monitor PACs for STAT preliminary reports and critical findings; communicate findings.
• Back up incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
• Maintain confidentiality of patients and staff and uphold hospital policies.
