Job summary

Capitol Imaging Services, LLC is seeking a compassionate Patient Coordinator for our imaging facility in Huntsville, AL. You will manage patient scheduling, verify insurance, backfill open slots, and serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a warm, empathetic experience from scheduling through visit completion.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in healthcare, knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA, and strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–2 years in a healthcare or medical office setting.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance processes, and HIPAA regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Proficiency with scheduling software and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and schedule imaging appointments, ensuring optimal use of facility resources and timely patient care.
• Confirm insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments; communicate coverage details to patients as needed.
• Monitor the schedule daily to identify cancellations and proactively backfill open slots to maintain efficiency.
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients—answering calls, responding to inquiries, and providing clear, empathetic guidance.
• Accurately input patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR) system and maintain up-to-date records.
• Work closely with radiologists, technologists, and administrative staff to ensure seamless patient flow and coordination.
• Provide a warm, welcoming environment for patients and their families, addressing concerns with empathy and professionalism.
