Job summary

D.O.M. magazine is seeking a skilled electronics technician to support the Combat and Integration and Identification Systems Division (IDS) in Saint Inigoes, MD, with duties on the U.S. Navy IFF systems.

The role involves inspecting circuitry, testing with meters and scopes, traveling to diverse locations, and collaborating with ship's forces and project leads to ensure readiness and reliability of AN/UPX-29(V) IFF systems.

Qualifications

• High School diploma and at least 3 years of related experience.
• Navy NEC 1572 AIMS or NEC 1571 UPX-29(V) Ship System Maintainer.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings and test procedures.
• Experience with basic electronic test equipment and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and certify circuit boards and systems per requirements.
• Troubleshoot malfunctions using drawings, theory, and test equipment.
• Travel to locations for IFF system activities and support.
• Perform IFF assessments and assist with Mode 5/Mode S upgrades.
• Communicate with ship's force, government customers, and leads.
• Mentor IFF technicians and support company growth.

Job Description In this role, you will directly support the Combat and Integration and Identification Systems Division (IDS) located in Saint Inigoes, MD (NAVAIR Webster Air field), and will perform a wide variety of electronics-based tasking in support of the U.S. Navy’s Fleet Modernization Program and the ISEA for the AN/UPX-29(V) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) system.Sample Tasking:

• Inspecting, testing, and certifying basic circuit boards and systems for compliance with system test requirements.
• Troubleshooting malfunctions using applicable drawings, knowledge of electronics theory, and test equipment such as multi-meters, cable testers, oscilloscopes, and synchro testers.
• Traveling to interesting locations such as: San Diego, California; Rota, Spain; Yokosuka, Japan; Norfolk, Virginia; Mayport, Florida, and more.
• Performing IFF system assessments such as ALOA’s, CSSQT’s, and MCA’s.
• Supporting IFF Mode 5 and Mode S system upgrades on board Navy ships or land-based sites.
• Answering a call for an On Board Technical Assistance (OBTA).
• Communicating with ship’s force, government customers, and BAE Systems project leads in a professional manner
• Teaching and assisting IFF technicians of all skill levels with a positive attitude and a willingness to invest in the future of our expanding company

Requirements:
