Job summary

Mercy Health's St. Rita's Medical Center in Lima, OH, is hiring a Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse. The role delivers comprehensive nursing care, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to assess patient status and develop care plans.

Responsibilities include conducting ongoing patient assessments, ensuring safe environments, and administering medications in line with policy. A BSN is preferred; current RN licensure and BLS/ACLS readiness are required or pending.

Qualifications

• 1 year of RN experience required
• 6 months RN experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred
• Current RN licensure in state of practice
• BLS required; ACLS preferred (must obtain ACLS within 6 months)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
• Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization’s policies and procedures
• Other duties as assigned
