Job summary

Mercy Hospital Washington is seeking a Patient Care Associate to assist in the ICU and Transitional Care Unit under the supervision of an RN or LPN, helping patients reach their highest level of wellness and comfort.

This fast-paced role requires no prior experience; Mercy offers a 175-hour training program within 90 days of hire, plus an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship and BLS certification within 1 month. Teamwork and compassionate care are central to the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CNA/CPTC certification preferred or enrollment in a healthcare program.
• Current Mercy co-worker status is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and record vital signs in the EMR.
• Assist patients with meals, hygiene, toileting, ambulation and transport.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• PCT tasks include phlebotomy, blood cultures, enteral feedings, wound care, IV/Foley removal, and tracheostomy care and suctioning.
