Job summary

Mercy invites applications for a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) role. Under the direction of an RN or LPN, you will assist in individualized patient care to achieve the highest level of wellness.

You will work as part of a collaborative team, performing clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to patient care. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, CNA/CPTC eligibility, and completion of a Mercy UAP training track.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum or age 18 and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training program.
• Experience: None required.
• Certifications: BLS Required within one month of hire, completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.
• Other: Minimum Physical Requirements, multiple physical tasks and postures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of an RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks essential to providing care.
• Work cooperatively with others as part of a team and support group goals.
