Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Patient Care Associate (PCA) to support individualized patient care under the supervision of an RN or LPN. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and performing both clinical and non-clinical tasks essential to patient wellbeing.

No prior experience is required; Mercy provides a 175-hour training program to meet state requirements and offers benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage, and tuition support for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC or enrolled in a healthcare program.
• BLS certification required within 1 month of hire.
• PCA competencies to be completed within 3 months of hire.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks essential to care.
• Work cooperatively with team to achieve unit goals.
• Maintain safety by meeting physical requirements (lift 50 pounds, stand/walk long shifts).
