Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN. You will work cooperatively with the team to promote the patient’s highest level of wellness and perform designated clinical procedures as needed.

No prior experience is required. Mercy provides a 175-hour training program, with BLS within one month and PCA competencies within three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in a healthcare career program through high school curriculum, or age 18+ and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training program.
• Must have BLS certification within one month of hire; PCA competencies within 3 months.
• No prior experience required.
• Mercy will provide a 175-hour training program meeting state DOHS requirements for new hires (within 90 days).
• Position requires lifting 50 pounds regularly; standing and walking throughout shift.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Work cooperatively with others as part of a team to achieve group goals.
• Perform designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Education
