Job summary

White Oak Medical Center is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for our Intensive Care Unit. The role involves patient and family education, professional leadership, and evidence-based practice within Adventist HealthCare's mission-driven care model.

The position is part-time, 24 hours per week, with a 6:45 pm–7:15 am schedule and weekend/holiday rotation. Maryland RN license, NCLEX, BLS, and ICU experience are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and support best practices.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards.
• Use equipment correctly and maximize efficiency.
• Develop a care plan according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and initiate action.
• Mentor students and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in evidence-based change.
