Job summary

White Oak Medical Center in Silver Spring, MD seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for our Cardiovascular ICU who will embrace our mission to extend healing through physical, mental, and spiritual care.

As an RN you will educate patients and families, act as a role model for Level I nurses, maintain ANA standards, use technology effectively, and develop care plans while monitoring patient conditions and mentoring colleagues.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing score on NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and families through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models to Level I nurses and use electronic resources to support best practices.
• Maintain professionalism and adherence to ANA standards and Adventist HealthCare values.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing duties to maximize efficiency.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Mentor students, colleagues and team members in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in evidence-based practice changes.
