Job summary

White Oak Medical Center in Maryland is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit to uphold our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As an RN, you will educate patients and families, model professionalism, and use evidence to improve practice. Schedule is 36 hours per week, night shifts (3 x 12-hour shifts), with weekend and holiday rotation. We offer competitive benefits and a faith-based work environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Passing NCLEX.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
• Current Maryland State nursing license.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by specialty area.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family through the continuum of care.
• Serve as role models and support best practices in patient care.
• Demonstrate professionalism and adhere to ANA standards.
• Use equipment correctly and delegate non-nursing duties.
• Develop a plan of care according to patient population.
• Identify changes in patient condition and take corrective action.
• Mentor students and teammates in patient-centered care.
• Conduct purposeful rounding from patient and family perspective.
• Conduct literature searches and apply findings to practice.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical care and participate in evidence-based changes.
