Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join project teams designing new power plants and upgrading existing facilities. You will develop I&C specifications, P&IDs, I/O lists, control panel layouts, and network architectures.

This role includes supporting Process Hazard Analysis, design reviews, and occasional travel to client and vendor offices for reviews and site coordination.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering; strong analog and digital control background.
• Apply I&C engineering principles to project design deliverables and technical problem solving.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications, with emphasis on MS Excel and Access.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience working effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Exceptional work habits; resourceful and enthusiastic attitude.

Responsibilities

• Design process control systems and prepare specifications for I&C equipment and installation services.
• Develop P&IDs, I/O lists, control panel designs, cause & effect matrices, control narratives, network architectures, cable schedules, location plans.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and plant site coordination as needed.
• Mentor through training sessions and Communities of Practice to grow engineering knowledge.
