Job summary
Sargent & Lundy seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join our energy projects team in a hybrid work setting. You will design, specify, and coordinate instrumentation and controls for new power plants and plant upgrades, leveraging FE certification and an ABET‑accredited engineering background.
Travel to client sites may be required. You will collaborate with multi‑discipline teams, perform design calculations, and contribute to automation and control narratives, while mentoring
Qualifications
- BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
- FE exam completed and Engineer in Training designation.
- 12+ years of power plant and heavy industrial control systems experience.
- Experience with power or industrial controls and control system design.
Responsibilities
- Utilize and expand instrumental and controls engineering knowledge on power plant projects.
- Collaborate on design of new power plants and modifications to existing facilities.
- Prepare specifications for instrumentation and controls equipment and installation services.
- Assist in design coordination, engineering calculations, and control circuit design.
- Engage in mentoring and training to grow technical skills.
- May travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination.
