Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer on a hybrid schedule with in-office work three days a week. The role focuses on designing control systems for new power plants and plant modifications, plus developing essential project deliverables like P&IDs and I/O lists.

The position requires a BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and a solid background in analog/digital control systems. FE/ABET credentials are valued, and some travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with strong analog/digital control systems background.
• Ability to apply I&C engineering principles to project design deliverables.
• Experience with MS Office, especially Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

• Apply academic background in Instrumentation & Controls to design of new power plants and modifications.
• Support design of process control systems and procurement specifications for I&C equipment.
• Develop P&IDs, I/O lists, control panels, C&E matrices, narratives, network layouts, cable schedules, and location plans.
• Participate in Process Hazard Analysis and Design Reviews.
• May travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites for reviews and verification.
• Engage in mentoring and training through Communities of Practice to grow engineering expertise.
