Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an accomplished Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to advance power plant projects. You will work on design for new facilities, modifications, and plant control systems, applying strong analytics and rigorous engineering principles.

The role requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree, FE/ITE, and extensive experience in industrial controls, with occasional travel to client sites and vendors.

Qualifications

• A BS or MS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering (ABET accredited) with strong control systems coursework.
• FE exam completed and Engineer in Training designation.
• 12+ years of power plant and heavy industrial control systems experience.
• Power or industrial controls experience.
• Ability to read and create logic diagrams and control narratives.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls equipment design and procurement specs.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team player.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Utilize and expand your background in Instrumentation and Controls on project teams for power plants and modifications.
• Design and coordinate instrumentation and controls for new plants and plant improvements.
• Develop power distribution designs and procurement specifications for instrumentation and controls equipment.
• Participate in multidisciplinary design coordination and electrical control circuit design.
• Engage in mentoring and on-the-job training to grow your engineering skills.
• Travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for field verification.
• Advance career through peer-learning and S&L Communities of Practice.
