Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to design and support power plant projects in a hybrid Clayton, MO setting. The role emphasizes power systems, control narratives, and procurement support for instrumentation and controls equipment.

Travel to client sites may be required for design reviews and construction coordination. Qualified candidates will hold a BS in Electrical Engineering with a power systems emphasis, PE licensure (or ability to obtain), and 5+

Qualifications

• A BS in Electrical Engineering from an accredited program is required; power systems emphasis preferred.
• PE license or ability to earn PE license is required.
• 5+ years of relevant power plant and heavy industrial control systems experience.
• Power or industrial controls experience.
• Understanding instrumentation and controls engineering principles and project design.
• Experience reading/creating logic diagrams and control narratives.
• Knowledge of producing technical plans, drawings, models.
• Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Access.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; collaborative team work; strong work habits.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design of new power plants and modifications to existing facilities including plant controls enhancements.
• Prepare specifications for instrumentation and controls equipment procurement and installation services.
• Work on power distribution designs and control system coordination as part of multi-discipline project teams.
• Expand knowledge through mentoring, training, and on-the-job learning.
• Potential travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination.
