Job summary

ABB is seeking a VFD Support Specialist to provide technical support for ABB drives, voltage systems and connectivity. Hybrid role based in New Berlin, WI with remote work availability across the United States.

You will collaborate with engineering, field service and product teams to diagnose issues, configure drives, and assist customers with commissioning and warranty evaluations. A strong electrical background and clear communication in English are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of how Variable Frequency Drives work is required.
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and drive-related issues.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support via phone and email for VFD-related issues.
• Assist with drive programming, parameter configuration, and integration with control systems.
• Collaborate with engineering, field service, sales and product teams to resolve complex issues.
• Coordinate warranty replacements and labor authorizations where needed.
• Maintain detailed case documentation using Salesforce and other tools.
• Stay current with VFD tech, software updates and industry trends.
