Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Columbus, OH is seeking a Substation Engineer 2 to join a project team designing high voltage substations and managing electrical engineering tasks. You will participate in project conceptualization, planning, and execution, and you’ll prepare clear reports for clients in line with S&L standards.

Ideal candidates have a BS in engineering, hands-on power industry experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to review designs.

Qualifications

• This position requires a BS degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace or Chemical Engineering.
• 1+ years of experience in the power or electric utility industry.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budget and time constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience reviewing designs created by others.

Responsibilities

• Participate in project conceptualization, work planning and execution.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and solve electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports presenting technical and project information per client requirements.
• Collaborate with peers and participate in Communities of Practice.
• May travel to client sites as needed.
