Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer 2 to collaborate in detailed electrical design and project management for high voltage substations. You will contribute to conceptualization, planning, and execution, and prepare client-ready reports.

The role emphasizes 3D visualization, design reviews, and using AI tools to streamline workflows. A hybrid schedule requires in-office presence three days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical/Engineering or related field; coursework in coding and 3D modeling; agentic AI exposure.
• Engineering degree with ABET accreditation preferred; suitable for power/utility context.
• Familiarity with design drawings, 3D visualization, and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead project conceptualization, work planning, and execution in a team setting.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues for substations.
• Prepare reports presenting technical and project information clearly for clients.
• Collaborate to develop knowledge through Communities of Practice and peer learning.
• Potential travel to client sites as needed.
