Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Substation Engineer 2 to join a project team focused on the detailed electrical design and project management of high voltage substations. You will support conceptualization, planning, and execution while working with engineers and designers to deliver robust electrical systems.

The role offers a hybrid schedule with three days in the office and two remote, with potential relocation support depending on location and opportunities to travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree with strong preference in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace/Chemical Eng and coursework including Coding, 3D Modeling/Design, AI.
• Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles for technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models with 3D visualization.
• 1+ years experience in the power or electric utility industry.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects under budget/time constraints.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning and execution.
• Support challenging assignments involving investigating, trouble-shooting and solving electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports that present technical and project information clearly to meet client requirements and S&L formats.
• Develop career via peer-learning through Communities of Practice.
• May travel to client sites as needed.
