Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking aSenior Substation Engineer to join a project team focused on the electrical design and project management of high voltage substations. You will contribute to concept development, planning, and execution while solving complex engineering challenges and preparing client-ready reports.

The role emphasizes collaboration, documentation, and ongoing learning through internal communities of practice, with occasional client-site travel and a hybrid work setup in Lexington, KY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering required.
• 7+ years experience designing medium voltage power systems.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple projects within budgets and schedules.
• Experience tracking project information such as schedules and expenditures against budgets, preparing status reports and client interface.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Experience in reviewing design drawings created by others.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in project conceptualization, work planning, and project execution.
• Work on challenging assignments that include investigating, trouble-shooting, and solving electrical engineering issues.
• Prepare reports that present technical and project information clearly and meet client requirements and S&L formats.
• Develop your career via peer-learning through Communities of Practice.
• May travel to client sites as needed.
