Job summary

As a Substation Engineer at Sargent & Lundy, you will join project teams focused on the design of new high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.

You will develop power equipment specifications and support procurement and field coordination, with occasional travel to client and vendor sites. The role offers a hybrid schedule—three days in the office and two remote days—and a relocation package may be available depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with strong preference in Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace or Chemical Engineering and related coursework.
• Understanding of electrical engineering applications and project design processes.
• Ability to visualize 3D parts and create technical plans from blueprints and models.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and strong written/verbal communication.
• Familiarity with AI concepts or tools is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work on project teams designing high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Prepare specifications for major electrical power equipment and installation services.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and site coordination as needed.
