Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Substation Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design of high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems. You will prepare procurement specifications and participate in design reviews with clients and vendors.

The role involves travel for reviews and site coordination, with a hybrid work model allowing three days in the office and two remote. A relocation package is offered based on location.

Qualifications

• This position requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical/related engineering with strong program coursework in coding, 3D modeling/design, and AI awareness.
• Ability to apply electrical engineering principles to project designs and understand production of technical plans and drawings.
• MS Office proficiency and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.

Responsibilities

• Work on design of new high voltage and extra-high voltage substations and transmission systems.
• Prepare specifications for procurement of major electrical power equipment and related services.
• Travel to client/vendor offices for design reviews and to site locations for construction coordination and field verification.
• Engage in AI-enabled design tools to improve workflows and deliver cost-effective designs.
