Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Pharmacy Technician for a contract-to-hire hybrid role in Cary, NC. The position focuses on end-to-end prior authorization and insurance verification for specialty medications, coordinating with patients and providers to ensure timely access to therapy.

You will work with CoverMyMeds and Biologics MIS, manage 16–20 patient cases daily, and support reverification and other access initiatives in a growing specialty pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Experience with prior authorizations in a hospital, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare setting.
• Ability to review clinic notes and large medical records to extract documentation.
• Strong communication and time-management skills for calls and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Process and communicate prior authorizations and insurance verification.
• Enter case updates into the Biologics MIS system.
• Triage prescriptions to HUB providers when needed.
• Handle inbound/outbound calls with patients, clinics, and payors.
• Review medical records to meet payer requirements.
• Support annual reverification and other access initiatives.
• Aim for 16–20 patient cases per day.
