Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting, and/or coursework to qualify for CPA licensure
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting
• Government and non-profit audit experience preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent project management skills, including ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines
• Dedication to teamwork, leadership, and client service
• Ability to supervise, train, and develop staff
• Integrity within the professional environment
• Flexibility for travel and hours beyond standard workday as needed
• Reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Develop people through delegating tasks and guiding staff
• Provide performance feedback and training, and complete evaluations
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented environment
• Use technology to learn, enhance service delivery, and improve efficiency
• Direct fieldwork daily; inform supervisors of engagement status; plan, coordinate, and supervise audit phases
• Build strong relationships with client personnel and proactively maintain contact throughout the year
• Adapt the audit approach to changing client environment
• Demonstrate understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts in client situations
• Prepare client financial statements and reports, meeting deadlines
• Identify operational improvements and risks for clients and report to leadership
• Review staff workpapers for compliance with standards and policy
• Develop public speaking and presentation skills
• Manage overtime to complete tasks with audit team
• Actively work toward CPA exam
