Job summary

Maher Duessel in Butler, PA is seeking Senior Auditors to join our firm. Senior Auditors can perform most engagements with little supervision, directing staff and reviewing their work, while guiding complex accounting, tax, and auditing matters.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting and/or coursework to qualify for CPA licensure.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Government and non-profit audit experience preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel/Word/Outlook).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple client engagements.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and develop staff.
• Commitment to teamwork, leadership, and client service.
• Ability to adapt to travel and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop people through delegating tasks and providing guidance to staff.
• Provide performance feedback, training, and evaluations for staff.
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
• Use technology to improve service delivery and efficiency.
• Direct fieldwork daily and coordinate audit engagement phases.
• Maintain strong relationships with client personnel and monitor client satisfaction.
• Adapt the audit approach to changing client environments.
• Apply complex accounting/audit concepts to client situations and prepare required reports.
• Identify operational improvements for clients.
• Highlight risks to supervisors and management.
• Review staff workpapers for compliance with standards and policy.
• Develop public speaking and presentation skills.
• Manage overtime to complete tasks with the audit team.
• Pursue CPA exam progress.
