Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in accounting or sufficient coursework to qualify as CPA.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting.
• Government and non-profit audit experience preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent project management skills, including ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
• Dedication to teamwork, leadership, and client service.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise, train, and develop staff.
• Integrity within the professional environment.
• Ability to adapt to work schedule and job requirements, including some travel and hours beyond the standard workday as needed.
• Reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Develop people through delegating tasks and guiding staff.
• Provide performance feedback and training, and complete evaluations for staff.
• Foster an efficient, innovative, and team-oriented work environment.
• Use technology to continuously learn, enhance service delivery, and improve efficiency.
• Direct fieldwork daily; inform supervisors of engagement status; plan, coordinate, and supervise audit phases.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, assess satisfaction, and maintain contact year-round.
• Adapt the audit approach to the changing client environment.
• Demonstrate understanding of complex accounting and auditing concepts and apply them to client situations.
• Understand client financial reporting requirements, prepare statements and reports, meet deadlines.
• Identify operational improvements for clients.
• Identify risks to be raised with supervisors/partners.
• Begin reviewing staff workpapers; ensure compliance with standards and firm policy.
• Begin acquiring public speaking and presentation skills.
• Manage overtime to complete tasks with audit team assistance.
• Actively work towards passing the CPA exam.
