Qualifications

• HS Diploma required
• Minimum of 2-year job-related experience
• NAHAM certification within one year of hire
• Basic MS Word & MS Excel
• Customer service and organizational skills
• Associate's degree preferred with 6 months job-related experience - Preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for hospital or medical group services via phone, online requests, or outbound calls.
• Identify and schedule referrals to NHMP practices and external providers to promote in-system retention.
• Provide excellent customer service to physician offices and patients; reduce call abandonment, length, and handling time.
• Perform insurance eligibility verification and payer requirements; use patient estimation tool to calculate liabilities.
• Initiate authorizations, pre-certifications, notices of admission, and referrals; follow up with payers and providers.
• Contact patients to perform pre-registration and convey insurance benefits; collect liabilities before service using scripting.
• Safeguard patient confidentiality and fulfill compliance responsibilities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
