Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support month-end close, prepare client invoices, and review project costs. You will collaborate with project managers and staff to ensure accurate billing and timely financial reporting.

This hourly role requires strong Excel and Deltek Vantagepoint experience, with an on-site Oakland presence one day per week and hybrid-remote options for the rest of the week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel; attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review drafts for labor and expenses; ensure accuracy of billing rates and ceilings.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill requests for invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and solve project billing issues.
• This position reports to the Oakland office one day per week with hybrid-remote remainder.
