Job summary

BKF invites you to join our accounting team as a Project Accountant, based in California with hybrid-remote options. In this role you will manage accounts, assist with project billing, and support monthly close with accuracy and reliability.

You will work closely with project managers and clients, utilize Deltek Vantagepoint, and apply strong math and Excel skills to deliver clear financial reports and cost analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for appropriate labor and expense charges.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill client requests for invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (i.e. WIP aging, AR aging, project budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and project maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve project billing issues.
• Perform other assignments as required.
• This position will report to our Oakland office one day per week and the opportunity for hybrid-remote the remainder of the week.
