Job summary

BKF Engineers, a respected multi-service infrastructure firm, seeks an Accounting/Billing Specialist to join our Oakland team. You will support month-end close, prepare client invoices, review labor and expenses, and assist PMs with project costs in Deltek Vantagepoint.

The role is hybrid-remote with one day per week at the Oakland office; we value accuracy, Excel proficiency, and clear communication with clients and project teams. Competitive pay and benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for appropriate labor and expense charges.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill requests for invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (e.g. WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and project maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and solve project billing issues.
• Perform other assignments as required.
• Report to the Oakland office one day per week with hybrid-remote schedule.
