Job summary

BKF is seeking a Project Accountant to join our California-based accounting team. In this role you will manage accounts and documentation with accuracy, support month-end close, prepare client invoices, and assist project managers with cost reviews.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, strong Excel skills, excellent communication, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint. The position offers competitive pay, benefits, and a hybrid work arrangement with Oakland reporting one day

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• Architecture or Engineering industry experience preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Deltek Vantagepoint experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare client invoices and review drafts for labor and expenses; ensure accuracy of rates and ceilings.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and provide invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project setup and maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and resolve project billing issues.
• Report to Oakland office one day per week with hybrid-remote remainder.
