Job summary

BKF Engineers provides multi-service infrastructure consulting with offices across California. We are seeking an accounting professional to support month-end close, invoicing, and project-cost reviews in a hybrid role reporting to the Oakland office one day per week.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting or equivalent, experience in architecture/engineering preferred, and strong Excel skills. Excellent communication and meticulous accuracy are essential; Deltek Vantagepoint

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry is preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for appropriate labor and expense charges.
• Ensure accuracy with billing rates and billing ceilings. Make appropriate changes and reclassifications.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill client requests for invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (i.e. WIP aging, AR aging, project budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and project maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and problem-solve project billing issues.
• This position will report to our Oakland office one day per week and the remainder hybrid-remote.
