Job summary

BKF Engineers is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting/Billing professional to support month-end close, invoicing, and project cost analysis in a hybrid role based in California. The position involves detailed billing control, financial reporting, and collaboration with project managers and clients.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Accounting, with experience in architecture/engineering preferred, strong Excel skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or combination of education and experience.
• Experience in Architecture or Engineering industry preferred.
• Exceptional communication skills (written and oral).
• Strong mathematical aptitude.
• Solid knowledge of Excel; attention to detail and high accuracy.
• Ability to interface with project managers, clients, and architects.
• Deltek Vantagepoint Accounting system experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the month-end closing process and reconciliations.
• Prepare invoices for clients and review draft invoices for appropriate labor and expense charges; ensure accuracy with billing rates and ceilings; make adjustments as needed.
• Assist Project Manager in reviewing project costs (budget vs actual).
• Research client invoicing questions and fulfill client requests for invoice support documentation.
• Prepare project financial reports (e.g., WIP aging, AR aging, budget vs actual).
• Support project managers in project setup and maintenance in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Troubleshoot and resolve project billing issues.
• Perform other assignments as required.
• Report to Oakland office one day per week with hybrid-remote remaining days.
