Job summary

EXP is seeking a Project Accountant (Hybrid) in Houston, TX. You will manage project contracts, setup and budgeting in Deltek, and prepare invoices while maintaining accurate project records.

In this role, you will collaborate with Project Managers to review variances, draft monthly progress reports, and ensure timely payments. The position emphasizes revenue recognition, Office software proficiency and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with Project Managers and Sector Leads regarding contract documents, change orders and other contract modifications.
• Set up/review/activate projects in Deltek and maintain budgets throughout the life of the project.
• Close out projects upon completion.
• Prepare draft and final invoices for all billable projects, including all applicable backup.
• Send final invoices to clients and file in-house copies in the client folder.
• Create monthly Project Progress Reports for each PM and hold monthly meetings to review the report.
• Investigate project variances and submit reports to management.
• Work with cash receipts to reconcile variances in cash applications.
• Compile information for internal and external audits as required.
• Obtain paperwork to set up new vendors and review/approve vendor invoices.
• Run requested reports and perform additional assignments as requested by PMs and Sector Leads.
• Communicate and coordinate with local offices.
