Job summary

EXP is seeking a Project Accountant to join our hybrid team. You will collaborate with Project Managers and Sector Leads to manage contracts, budgets, invoicing, and reporting for engineering projects.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Accounting, 5+ years in accounting (AP/AR/Billing) in an engineering setting, and strong knowledge of revenue recognition. Proficiency with Deltek and MS Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting is required.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience (AP/AR/Billing) in an engineering firm.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated with independent work habits.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantage Point is a definite asset.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Project Managers and Sector Leads regarding contract documents, change orders and related modifications.
• Set up/review/activate projects in Deltek; maintain budgets throughout the project life cycle.
• Close out projects upon completion.
• Prepare draft and final invoices with all supporting documentation.
• Send final invoices to clients and file copies in the client folder.
• Create monthly Project Progress Reports and hold monthly meetings with PMs.
• Investigate variances and submit reports to management.
• Coordinate with cash receipts team to reconcile variances in cash application.
• Gather information for audits as required.
• Obtain paperwork to set up new vendors and review vendor invoices and employee expenses.
