Job summary

EXP is seeking a Project Accountant (Hybrid) to support project financials across our Dallas-area offices. You will work with Project Managers and Sector Leads on contracts, modify orders, activate projects in Deltek, and manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle.

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Accounting with at least 5 years in accounting for an engineering firm, understands revenue recognition, and communicates clearly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Accounting and 5+ years in accounting for an engineering firm.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and accounting practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP software; Deltek Vision or Vantage Point is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience in a fast-paced engineering office with deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Project Managers and Sector Leads on contracts, change orders, and services.
• Set up and review projects in Deltek; maintain budgets throughout the lifecycle.
• Close out projects upon completion and prepare invoices with backups.
• Send final invoices to clients and file copies in the client folder.
• Create monthly project progress reports and hold meetings with each PM.
• Investigate variances and report to management; reconcile cash variances.
• Prepare information for internal and external audits; obtain vendor paperwork.
• Review vendor invoices and employee expense reports; coordinate with offices.
