Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join its Power Delivery team in North America. This technical role focuses on coordinating and developing the power system studies, including feasibility and interconnection analyses, for clients across the region.

A key element is collaborating with Substation, Transmission, and Renewables groups as part of multi-disciplinary projects. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 5 years

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience within power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficiency with the PSS®E software package, including load-flow, short-circuit and transient stability analysis.
• Experience with alternative planning software: TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, DSA Tools.
• Familiar with North American Market Operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, AESO, IESO).

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study and planning projects for clients.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability and related analyses.
• Conduct planning/system performance and transient studies to meet standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver accurate planning reports and client deliverables with strong QA.
• Coordinate with Arcadis teams and cross-staffing opportunities; develop scopes, budgets, proposals.
