Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join our Power Delivery team in North America. The role coordinates and develops the study team, and conducts planning, interconnection, and transient studies for clients while collaborating with Substation, Transmission, Protection & Control, and Renewables groups.

The candidate should have a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred), 5+ years of power system study experience, and proficiency with PSS/E and NA market

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 5 years' direct experience in power system study and planning.
• Proficient with PSS/E including load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability.
• Familiar with NA Market Operators policies (e.g. MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO).
• PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for various clients.
• Perform and review power system analyses including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability, and system impact studies.
• Conduct planning/system performance studies and transient studies per prevailing standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver accurate and thorough planning, studies, system design, report summaries, and other client deliverables meeting standards and constructability.
• QA on client reports and deliverables; coordinate across Arcadis units for cross-selling and staffing; develop scopes, budgets, and proposals.
