Job summary

Basis Technologies in Irving, Texas, is seeking a Payroll and Office Operations Specialist to join our US team. This hands-on role offers ownership across payroll tax compliance and day-to-day office operations.

You’ll partner with our UK payroll manager, handle registrations, notices, and build a smooth office experience—on-site and remote days included, with support from Payroll, HR, IT and Finance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of US payroll tax compliance across states.
• Experience in a small or scaling office environment.
• Able to work with tax authorities and resolve notices.

Responsibilities

• Manage federal, state and local payroll tax compliance.
• Prepare quarterly and annual payroll tax filings.
• Register and maintain payroll tax accounts as we grow.
• Administer unemployment taxes and state/local withholding filings.
• Respond to tax notices and liaise with authorities.
• Support payroll tax audits and compliance reviews.
• Manage day-to-day office operations: supplies, mail, vendors.
• Support onboarding/offboarding, access management.
• Coordinate in-office events and logistics.
• Support company initiatives such as volunteer days and DEI programs.
• Manage laptop/mobile inventory with IT.
• Provide light IT support for events and meeting rooms.
