Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking a Payroll Specialist II to join our Dallas, TX team in a hybrid role (3 days in-office, 2 from home). The role requires accurate payroll processing, garnishments, employment verifications, and compliance with regulations, and involves high-volume data handling and strict deadlines.

Candidates should have at least 3 years of in-house payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and proficiency with payroll systems such as Dayforce and JD Edwards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of in-house payroll experience including time entry and payroll processing; union and prevailing wage payroll experience a plus.
• Strong knowledge of payroll related processes and best practices.
• Fundamental payroll tools: Dayforce, JD Edwards, Microsoft Office suite.

Responsibilities

• Review and audit all timesheet entries for accuracy and compliance.
• Review, calculate, and balance time entry from various payroll forms.
• Compute and enter additional compensation payments (COLAs, per diems, reimbursements, bonuses).
• Compute deductions and benefit overrides (health, auto allowances, vehicle benefits).
• Process regular and off-cycle payroll cycles ensuring accuracy and deadlines.
• Respond to payroll information requests within four business days.
