Job summary

Neighborly seeks a Payroll Specialist to join the People Services team in a role focused on accurate, timely payroll processing across multiple states. You will collaborate with supervisors and internal teams to verify timekeeping, handle payroll-related information, and ensure compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of payroll experience, strong Excel and HRIS skills, and a customer-service mindset. This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Waco, TX or Irving, TX, offering competitive pay

Qualifications

• 3+ years of payroll experience; multi-state payroll and taxes
• Confidential data handling and discrepancy resolution
• Proficiency in MS Office (advanced Excel with pivot tables/VLOOKUP) and HRIS/payroll systems

Responsibilities

• Process payroll records accurately and on time across multiple states.
• Prepare, process, and distribute payroll checks and adjustments.
• Support month-end payroll and benefits accounting with journal entries.
• Maintain payroll records and respond to audit requests.
• Assist with garnishments, direct deposit corrections, and pay card tasks.
• Coordinate payroll-related changes during organizational transitions.
• Monitor shared payroll inbox and resolve issues promptly.
