Job summary

Halo Investing, Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our HR team. This hybrid role (3 days in the office) focuses on payroll processing in ADP, administering health insurance, 401(k), and other benefits for about 100 employees.

You will maintain HRIS records, ensure ACA reporting, support onboarding, and partner with benefits providers to keep plans competitive while contributing to Halo's culture and employee experience.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of payroll and benefits experience preferred.
• Experience with payroll processes and ADP Workforce Now.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy in recordkeeping.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support employees.

Responsibilities

• Fully own Halo’s payroll processing in ADP, including ongoing payroll and year-end processes.
• Administer health insurance, 401k, and other benefits; manage enrollments and changes.
• Maintain employee records in ADP and Halo HRIS; ensure accuracy in provider portals.
• Ensure ACA and other regulatory reporting accuracy; coordinate payroll taxes with agencies.
