Job summary

Responsibilities

• Own Halo's payroll processing in ADP, including ongoing payroll and year-end closes.
• Administer employee benefits programs (health, 401k, and other benefits).
• Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in ADP HRIS; manage annual enrollment.
• Collaborate with external benefit partners to optimize programs.
• Research market changes to keep Halo's plans competitive.
• Maintain employee records in ADP HRIS; ensure ACA reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate payroll tax filings with state and federal agencies and Halo's accounting team.
• Support onboarding for new hires to ensure a smooth start.

Payroll and Benefits Specialist, Chicago (hybrid)

Halo is looking for a Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our HR team in Chicago. This hybrid (3 days/week in office) opportunity is ideal for someone with ADP payroll experience who also has a passion for helping employees understand and utilize their benefits. You will play an important role in our HR function, managing benefits and payroll for ~100 employees, while also being a resource for employees and managers in support of Halo's culture.

Responsibilities

• Fully own Halo's payroll processing in ADP, both ongoing payroll and year-end processes. This includes regular earnings for salaried employees, as well as commissions and discretionary earnings.
• Administer employee benefit programs, including health insurance, 401k plan, and other statutory and voluntary benefits.
• Process benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations in HRIS system (ADP) and ensure accuracy in provider portals. Manage annual benefits enrollment.
• Collaborate with external benefit partners to ensure ongoing success in our programs.
• Proactively research changes in the external benefits and wellness market to ensure Halo provides competitive plans.
• Fully own Halo's payroll processing in ADP, both ongoing payroll and year-end processes
• Maintain accurate employee records in Halo's HRIS/payroll system (ADP).
• Ensure ACA and other regulatory reporting is accurate.
• Handle payroll tax filings, coordinating with state and federal agencies and Halo's accounting team as needed.
• Support new employees through hire and onboarding process to ensure a successful start to their Halo journey.
