Job summary

HED is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Denver-based team. The role focuses on developing design documentation, performing calculations, and coordinating across disciplines.

You’ll contribute to project execution, deepen understanding of building systems, and take responsibility for portions of design packages with guidance from project engineers. Primarily working in Revit, you will model HVAC, plumbing, and/or fire protection components, perform equipment sizing and energy code

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.
• Revit experience required.
• Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position.

Responsibilities

• Produce the mechanical sheet list and set up projects in Revit.
• Participate in BIM Project Execution Plan and submittal reviews.
• Collaborate with project engineers and other disciplines on mechanical systems.
• Model HVAC, plumbing, or fire protection components in Revit according to code and client needs.
• Edit specifications and assist in energy code calculations and QA/QC per Design Process.
• Support project timelines by staffing estimates and managing hours.
