Job summary

HED is seeking a Mechanical Designer to advance design packages, develop documentation, and collaborate across disciplines. You will work primarily in Revit, sizing mechanical systems and contributing to energy code compliance with guidance from project engineers.

You will grow expertise in building systems while mentoring others and supporting project execution in a hybrid office environment with regular in-person collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 2+ years of experience in the AEC industry preferred.
• Written and verbal communication skills commensurate with the position required.
• Strong organizational skills preferred.
• Revit experience required.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, enthusiastic, flexible and curious.

Responsibilities

• Produce the mechanical sheet list and project setup in Revit.
• Participate in BIM Project Execution Plan development.
• Support mechanical submittal reviews and RFI responses under supervision.
• Collaborate with engineers to coordinate mechanical systems with other disciplines.
• Model HVAC, plumbing and/or fire protection components in Revit.
• Prepare redlines and delegate tasks to team members.
• Engage in QAQC per HED’s Design Process and attend project meetings.
